Team studio Joongho Choi undertook the job of designing space with 161 m2 from one of the tallest residential buildings located in the center of the financial district in Seoul. Our friend Steven, working actively across cultures, has shown various identities and cultures in each part of the house. The space features vague boundaries of rooms that allow experiencing abundant scenes in daily life.
The character of the living room is shown not only by the boldness in colors, elements, forms and objects that show his taste but also curation of furniture from different ages and cultures. The blue-colored shelving structure applied to the pillar affects the identity of the space along with its functions.
The kitchen shows balanced harmonization of design with contrasting characteristics of warmth from raw wooden plywood and coldness from metal. The wall in the kitchen has been removed so that the house entrance is insight. In this way, you can enjoy the kitchen area and the light from outside at once. Collaborating with a kitchen design company in South Korea 'BYBIGTABLE', we could especially offer personalized kitchen furniture only for Steven.
Collecting shoes is one of his hobbies. It can be shown as more enjoyable and active through the design. By assembling module metal units, you can easily add units by the number of shoes. Additionally, the lighting on the backside of the display makes the shoes stand out.
